HAWAII LOCAL ANESTHESIA GAP CERTIFICATION
CourseDesigned for Dental Hygienists Certified in Block Local Anesthesia in a different state and do not have the educational requirements for the State of Hawaii. For those certified in infiltration anesthesia you must enroll in the full cert course.
HYBRIDE LEARNING: LEARNING WHEN IT WORKS FOR YOU
The lecture information is presented in an online format. Course work comprises of thirty hours of recorded lecture, reading, assessment and live virtual sessions. Upon completion of lecture material students must pass the examination with an 75% or higher to move on to the in person, hands-on practicum portion of the course. The practicum portion of the course includes laboratory and clinical experience. Students must demonstrate competency in administration of local anesthesia for the following injections: intraoral block anesthesia and soft tissue infiltration anesthesia for the purposes of dental therapies.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience as a practicing clinical dental hygienist and nearly 15 years as an esteemed educator, Tina possesses a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the dental profession. She's on a mission to share her wisdom and skills with the dental community and is known as the go-to person for local anesthesia, head and neck anatomy, and medical emergencies.
