What are the course fees?
Course registration covers all the course fees, but does not include the cost of the book. These amount to about $100-$150 according to Amazon prices. Clinicians in one practice might be able to share some or all of these items as well.
What additional items do I need?
Other than a computer or mobile device, you will need to supply proof of your current dental hygiene license, CPR card, and professional liability insurance.
How much of the information is Online versus In-person?
The Georgia board requires 60 total hours of education.
30 hours of lecture, 15 hours of lab and 15 hours of clinical.
All the lecture material is online. It is a combination of recorded lectures and live virtual sessions. The goal is to complete 1 module per week. For a total of 6 weeks of lecture material.
A small portion of the lab is completed virtually. Students will upload assignments.
The hands-on portion is the 15 hours of lab and 15 hours of clinical.
This is broken up into a period of about 3 days.
Dates and Locations
The dates and location for the hands-on portion is currently in the Greater Atlanta area. Be on the look out for other regions of the state in 2024.
Can an office do the course all together?
Yes, if there is a practice with multiple hygienists the office can coordinate with Tina to assess the possibility.
